| Getting some work done and uploaded that I like fairly well, such as it is. I'm mostly coloring other people's line art at the moment, most of my projects kind of died due to lack of relevance. I am firmly of the opinion that the main difference between artists who are financially successful and those who are not is not talent, but the ability to squash that little voice that says "I expect someone to give me money for THIS?" and actually demand payment. I have seen too many talented artists work crappy day jobs while mediocre ones make obscene amounts of money turning out drek to believe otherwise. Hurray for all the talented artists, and may they all learn to squash that voice if they are so inclined! I'm not really sure where I am, artistically. I am a fairly good inker of existing line-art, a good graphic designer when given parameters, and a good renderer of what I see with charcoals and pastels, but I suffer from perpetual "what should I draw?" syndrome, and haven't managed to convince myself that anyone would want to see my abstract work, let alone actually want to own it. :-. Ah, artistic angst. Gotta loathe it. I'll go be angsty elsewhere now. |
